01. EVERYTHING DONE WITH HEART
Ever since I was young, I knew I had a deeply sensitive heart. I was always looking for nostalgic moments to hold on to, searching out new Bon Iver songs I could play on repeat, and rewatching old home videos over & over again. These things only grew with time and are the drive for everything Films by Madeleine is. I am so honored that I have turned this deep desire and passion in my heart into Films by Madeleine, where I get to create nostalgic, passionate films that take you on an emotional journey and make you FEEL.
I am a true empath. This emotional intelligence gives me the ability to notice and understand all of the beautiful feelings that come on a wedding day and help me be intentional with the way that I craft each film that I create. I am an enneagram four, with a wing three. This basically means that I put heart into everything that I do, to the best of my ability. I am an Oregon native, but currently live in San Diego with my cutie husband, Aaron, dog named Milo and cat named Taz. My husband Aaron and I love being outdoors, in community with our closest friends, and kicking each other’s butts at Mario Kart. We both met through our passion for music. I love cheering him on as he directs choirs throughout San Diego. When not creating art, you can probably find us at the dog park or on our way to the drive in with lots of good snacks!
Films by Madeleine is created with heart in every direction. I created the logo after being inspired by my grandma’s bathroom wallpaper. Yep, you read that right. My grandma’s home is one of the most special and significant places on the earth for me. It represents nostalgia in my life. That nostalgia is what fuels my passion, I knew I had to take a piece of that into this dream of mine. I started this business with the intent to pour my heart and skill into every film that I create. And thus began Films by Madeleine.
"If you are considering hiring Madeleine, stop wasting time and just do it! I watched hundreds of videos by wedding videographers (wedding videographer to me was my most important vendor, it was a big decision!), but always went back to one of the films that I watched of Madeleine's. I to this day, have not found a better videographer; I wish I would've stopped looking the second I watched her films. Hiring Madeleine was one of the best decisions my partner and I made. From the beginning she was gentle (never pushy), kind, polite and genuinely cared. She is responsive and willing to listen to and field any concerns you may have. Moreover she is willing to work with you, to ensure you get exactly what you want for your special day (she has a very detailed questionnaire, in which she has thought of every detail you might want to have a say in, which I truly loved, it felt very thorough). Leading up to the wedding day was great, but on our wedding day she was a joy to have around. She is such a beautiful soul, so polite, carries herself with such integrity and just a down to earth good person. After the wedding, we had an amazing teaser for instagram within a week (she's fast, but doesn't sacrifice quality)! And for our final film, she kept in touch, gave us little updates here and there, and then released the most wonderful film that captured our day perfectly. Madeleine preserved our memories in the most beautiful way, all the emotions, voices, laughs, and vistas; she's given us a timeless film that (I still watch every day, no joke) we can enjoy, but our family and future family can also enjoy for years to come. So if you are looking for a top notch human-being, someone who is authentic, who cares, someone you actually want to talk to and spend time with, not just another vendor, hire Madeleine. "Madeleine was such a pleasure to work with! Sweet, professional, personable, and made us feel comfortable. She truly went above and beyond. Not only did she make us look amazing, she captured every special moment and has given us memories of our elopement that we will cherish forever. Your wedding videographer spends nearly as much time with you as your bridal party does on your special day.
